Better than Gen3? Really?
No doubt about it, US-made Gen3 image intensifier tubes represent some of the best night vision technology on the market today. But as good as they are, the Norwegian-made DEP-Photonis line of image tubes have US manufacturers looking over their shoulders for two very good reasons.

Superior Halo than Gen3
When you view normal urban light sources such as street lights or car headlights with night vision devices, annoying halos are produced around each light. This is a problem as halos tend to obliterate your view.

While scopes containing Gen3 tubes do a good job to limit halos to 2 mm, systems that contain DEP-Photonis image tubes perform significantly better, reducing halo size by 60% to a minuscule 0.8 mm.

The result? NVE-7 goggles deal with real-life, urban lighting conditions better than any Gen3 on the market.
