Thermal Sensors and Range Finders: An Overview The
Heatseeker Thermal Sensor and our line of Laser Range Finders provide
valuable information that compliments our extensive line of night vision
products.
Heatseeker Thermal Sensor... just
like night vision, but different
In the same manner as night vision devices the Heatseeker
Thermal Sensor has been designed to detect energy wavelengths
that are invisible to the human eye. Unlike night vision however, the
Heatseeker targets longer energy wavelengths that exceed 1,200nm.
But while humans are completely unaware of the energy wavelengths that
night vision targets, the same is not true for the Heatseeker. That's
because the Heatseeker targets something that our skin is well aware
of - heat.
The Heatseeker has been designed to take constant thermal measurements
and compare each to the immediately preceding measurement. As you scan
an area by slowly sweeping the Heatseeker back and forth, these temperature
differences are indicated to you by a series of indicator lights and
audible squawks from the unit's earpiece, much like a Geiger counter.
Used in conjunction with night vision equipment the Heatseeker can provide
a powerful one-two punch. Using the unit's ultra-covert infrared pointer
the thermal scanning point can be clearly viewed through your night
vision scope, binoculars or night vision goggles to provide a complete
visual and thermal assessment of your surroundings.
Laser Range Finders - another layer
of information
The Newcon Optik line of laser range finders provide unprecedented ranging
accuracy at a price point that cannot be ignored.
With ranges extending to 4 kilometers (that's just under 2½ miles!),
the ability to add speed detection, compass, angular elevation measurements
and computer connectivity, there simply is no competition for these
products.
